Should You Use A Phone Case At All?

The honest case for going caseless — and the four scenarios where a case is non-negotiable.

Modern iPhones and flagship Androids are designed to be used naked. Titanium frames, Ceramic Shield, Gorilla Victus — the materials are tougher than ever. So why use a case?

Arguments for going caseless

  • Thinner, lighter, more comfortable in hand.
  • You feel the design you paid $1,000+ for.
  • Better thermals during long video calls or gaming.

When you should absolutely use one

  • You drop your phone more than once a month.
  • You plan to resell — back scratches kill resale value by 15–25%.
  • You work outdoors, in a kitchen, or anywhere with hard floors.
  • You have a titanium iPhone — fingerprints stain it instantly.

The middle path

Use a slim case (under 2mm of profile) with a strong raised lip. You get most of the protection without losing the design feel.
