Custom Phone Cases: What 'Custom' Actually Means
'Custom' covers everything from a name on a clear case to a fully designed print. Here's what you're really getting at each level.
'Custom phone case' is one of the most-searched case terms — but it means four different things depending on the brand. Knowing the difference saves you from paying premium money for a sticker.
The four levels of custom
- Level 1 — name or initial added to a stock design (cheap, fast, looks fine).
- Level 2 — upload your own photo, printed onto a blank case (the 'photo case' category).
- Level 3 — pick a pre-made design and color from a curated catalogue (what most boutique brands do — Miarobi included).
- Level 4 — fully bespoke: you brief a designer, they create a one-off print (rare, expensive, worth it for gifts).
How to pick the right level
For yourself, level 3 wins — you get designer-quality artwork without the gamble of uploading your own low-res photo. For a gift, level 4 is unbeatable. Avoid level 2 unless your photo is high-resolution and meant to be seen up close.
