Do phone cases block signal or contactless payments?

Short answer: no, for any plastic, TPU, silicone, polycarbonate, or leather case. Cell signal, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC (Apple Pay / Google Pay) all pass through them. The only cases that can interfere are full-metal builds or cases with metal credit-card holders sitting in the NFC path.

Do phone cases block cell signal or contactless payments?

No — for any case made from plastic, TPU, silicone, polycarbonate, or leather. Cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC (which powers Apple Pay and Google Pay) all pass through non-metallic materials without meaningful loss. The only cases that can interfere are full-metal cases or cases lined with metal plates and magnetic credit-card holders, and even then the effect is usually a small dip in signal strength rather than a full block.

Will Apple Pay or Google Pay work through the case?

Yes. NFC operates at very short range (a few centimetres) and passes through plastic, TPU, and silicone easily. Hold the phone up to the terminal normally — the case doesn't change anything.

What about magnetic card holders attached to the case?

A magnet itself doesn't block NFC, but if the card sits directly between your phone and the terminal it can shield the signal. Just take the card out or slide it aside when paying. The magnet won't damage modern chip-based cards.

Are Miarobi cases NFC-friendly?

Yes. Miarobi cases are dual-layer TPU + polycarbonate with no metal components, so contactless payments, signal, and wireless charging all work normally through them.
